MOBI Partnership with Blue Ridge Health District

Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville, PLC (PAC) is a group of pediatric healthcare professionals serving patients (up to 21 years) with four offices in the Charlottesville and Zion Crossroads area. A partnership between BRHD and PAC will provide both pediatric clinical and social services via MOBI, allowing both organizations’ to improve access to high-quality, on-time, in-place care for residents districtwide.

Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville participates in Reach Out and Read a nationwide program that aims to promote early childhood literacy through access to books and read aloud modeling. Providers at PAC provide books and information about the importance of reading at well checks from ages 6 months to 5 years. Funding goes entirely to purchasing new books.

Food Pantry at PAC

“Poverty is a very complicated issue, but feeding a child isn’t.” -Jeff Bridges

The staff and providers at Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville noticed a huge increase in food insecurity during the COVID pandemic. They were able to utilize the empty waiting rooms at their 4 offices to create a food pantry that was maintained by donations from staff and the community. Unfortunately, the need has continued to grow and donations have not kept pace. We are working to fund a consistent amount of food to keep the pantry full. In the future we hope to partner with other local resources, such as the Blue Ridge Food Bank, to make this project sustainable
